Once upon a time, in a land far, far away, there were two sisters named Karina and Kazandra. These sisters loved musical theater very much and as they grew older, they realized that they dearly missed all the fun they had had in their school productions. Thus it was on one cold December day, when they were re-watching their old school productions, that they had this brilliant idea to put together a musical version of one of their favorite novels, Pride and Prejudice, and invite their friends (who were also experiencing musical theater withdrawal!) to audition. To make a long story short, after a lot of hard work and determination, their dream of bringing Pride and Prejudice to life came true and they had a very successful show-despite all the people who said it was impossible for 2 teenage girls with no experience whatsoever in directing a musical. Together, the cast of Pride and Prejudice: The Musical raised $1880 for BC Children’s Hospital. In 2011, they produced The Musical Importance of Being Earnest based on Oscar Wilde’s comical play and they raised $2400 over a span of 3 performances! That brings us to 2012 where they are very excited to be just at the brink of starting rehearsals for their May musical: A Midsummer’s Night Musical based on Shakespeare’s A Midsummer’s Night Dream.
This is the prologue to what hopefully will be an exciting story with a happy ending.
