This Saturday, rehearsal ended early because the March sisters and Laurie had an event to attend. The Centre for Child Development's 13th Annual Gala of Hope was taking place at Northview Golf and Country Club and we were performing two of our numbers from A Little Musical about Little Women. The room we entered for our soundcheck at 4:00 was shining, shimmering and splendid! It took our breath away! The theme of the Gala was 'Arabian Nights' and it truly looked like we had entered a whole new world with the fancy tables and the wonderful rainbow shining over the golf course.
From 4:30 to 7:00 we were in the ladies changing room listening to music, fixing hair and make up and eventually changing into costumes. It was a bit of a long break, but we entertained ourselves well enough! At 7:20, it was performance time! There were hundreds of people in attendence including Tamara Taggart from CTV, who was MCing the event and Dear Rouge, winners of the Peak Performance Project, who were performing after us. It was the first time we had performed our songs in front of an audience and we were very pleased with how well they were received! The costumes looked wonderful, the singing sounded great and we had several people say that they are looking forward to attending the show in December!
On a different note, we'd like to give a big thank you to Sharon and Darrell Poetker who have generously donated to our production! We are so thankful for their support in helping us raise as much as we possibly can for The Centre for Child Development!
Next week we are performing once again-this time at Queen's Park Care Centre! We're very excited to return and share our songs with the residents! Wishing you all a delightful, delicious and delovely week!
