Wrapping Up and Moving Forward!

It's officially a month since closing night of A Little Musical about Little Women. (What the heck! Where did the time go?!) As some schools began January 2nd, I never got a chance to write a blog post to wrap things up, so here it is now!

Little Women raised $3,042.35 for The Centre for Child Development. We beat our goal! Thank you to the cast and crew for their hard work, all our sponsors for their support, and the audience for their generosity! We hope you all enjoyed the show!

The whole journey was a very rewarding experience.  I can still remember those summer nights when it was light enough to practice outside and then the gradual transition to winter when it was too cold to practice in the garage! Being part of a show is always an emotional ride because of all the ups and downs, and sometimes, after a particularly bad rehearsal, you may go sleep wondering why you brought so much stress upon yourself.

But then there's that quick peek through a hole in the curtain and you smile to yourself as you see the audience filing in. Then there's that wonderful flutter of butterflies in your stomach as the lights dim and you know that the show is about to begin.  The overture beings to play and you think to yourself: "I'm going to be on stage! In a beautiful costume, with my hair curled and my make up done to perfection!" You get to sing and dance and DO WHAT YOU LOVE! It's so magical and exciting that it's worth all of the hard work and frustration of the long rehearsals of the previous months.

Also, just a random fact: We've brought to life 72 musical numbers...SO FAR! 72! And there are more to come!

Now that there are only 11 months left  in 2013, it's time to think about the future! We are very, very, very excited for all that it will bring and we have some big plans! We have TWO fabulous stories to bring to life, the return of summer music camp, AND a very exciting event which we hope to hold this summer!

Thank you for all your support, not only in 2012, but through all the years-From our very first performance of Pride and Prejudice: The Musical when we were so worried no one would even show up, to closing night of A Little Musical about Little Women-Thank you! We look forward to celebrating the arts and the amazing talent in our community for many years to come!
